Darren was born in Suffern, New York, but raised on the beach in Santa Monica, California - making him the most laid-back, yet uptight person in existence. While in high school, he participated in drama classes taught by Marilyn Fox, who later became the artistic director of the Pacific Resident Theatre Ensemble (PRTE) in Venice, California. Shortly after high school, Darren joined the company at PRTE and was inspired by the actors, who at the time were mostly alumni of the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.). Through their coaching and guidance, Darren gained admittance into the M.F.A Program at A.C.T., and upon graduation returned to Los Angeles to pursue a professional acting career. He has since worked on such shows as Married With...Children, Tour of Duty, Weeds as well as several feature films.
